Islip Terrace firefighters subdue fire at apartment complex
Islip Terrace firefighters worked for more than an hour to subdue a fire at an unoccupied apartment complex Sunday night, officials said.
Department officials said they received a call at about 8:45 p.m. reporting a blaze inside of a set of apartment buildings located near Providence Drive and Connetquot Avenue. The buildings are being renovated, fire officials said.
As of 10 p.m., department officials said the fire was "under control" and no injuries were reported. A cause for the fire had not been determined Sunday night, officials said.
