A Lake Grove man whose license has been suspended or revoked 45 times was arrested Friday night on a charge of driving without a license after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Nesconset, Suffolk police said.

James A. Tomassi, 32, was driving an unregistered 2002 Suzuki northbound on Old Nichols Road when his motorcycle collided with a 2000 Toyota at 6:55 p.m., police said. Police did not immediately identify the cause of the crash. No one was injured, police said.

Police determined that Tomassi's license had been suspended or revoked 45 times since 2001. These suspensions included 30 scofflaws on 13 separate dates, police said.

Fourth Precinct Officer Richard Regula arrested Tomassi, who was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Tomassi was also issued 10 traffic-related summonses.

He was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct, police said. His arraignment is set for Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip.
