Kings Park motorcyclist dies in Commack crash, police say
Suffolk County police are investigating a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night that killed a Kings Park motorcyclist.
Fourth Squad detectives said the crash about 5 p.m. killed Vincent Giovannantonio, 52, at the intersection of Kings Park Road and Indian Head Road in Commack.
Giovannantonio was riding a 2006 Triumph motorcycle north on Indian Head Road when he collided with a 2003 Ford Taurus that was traveling south, police said.
The driver of the Taurus, Fred Kleeman, 73, of Commack, attempted a left turn onto Kings Park Road when the two vehicles collided, police said.
Giovannantonio was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.
Police said no charges are pending against Kleeman, who stayed at the scene and was not injured.
Each vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
