No injuries as Cessna skids off runway
A broken landing gear on a twin-engine Cessna forced the plane to skid off the runway at Long Island MacArthur Airport Monday, an airport spokeswoman said.
There were no injuries after a pilot with a passenger in the 1970 Cessna 414 made a scheduled landing at 11:49 a.m., airport spokeswoman Catherine Green said.
"Upon landing, a gear collapsed and the plane slid off the runway about 50 feet," Green said.
Green said the Ronkonkoma airport's fire-rescue team responded and the plane then was towed to its hangar for repairs.
