Suffolk police said Dane Headley, 27, of Coram, was charged with driving while intoxicated after he lost control of his car and crashed into an unoccupied karate school on Middle Country Road in Coram on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014. Credit: STRINGER NEWS SERVICE

A Coram man was intoxicated when he crashed his car through an unoccupied karate school early Saturday, Suffolk police said.

Dane Headley, 27, of Nixon Court, was driving his 2012 Honda shortly after 5 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and smashed into the front of 396 Middle Country Rd. in Coram, police said.

Headley suffered a head injury and was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

He was later charged with driving while intoxicated. He was issued a field appearance ticket.
