Michael Haug, 64, of Bay Shore, was walking east on Main Street and crossing Ocean Avenue about 4:30 p.m. when a westbound Suffolk Transportation bus hit him as it turned left onto Ocean, police said.

Haug was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, police said.

The school bus driver, Richard Cousin, 41, of Bay Shore, and his two passengers were not injured, police said.
