A federal prison guard from Huntington pleaded not guilty Tuesday to an indictment charging her with having sex with an inmate convicted of murdering two NYPD detectives a decade ago.

Prosecutors said in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn that the woman, Nancy Gonzalez, 30, who is expecting a baby by the inmate, had tested positive for a controlled substance after her arrest last month.

The woman's attorney, Anthony Ricco of Manhattan, said outside court she had taken the substance before her arrest because "she had some stress relative to the investigation."

Prosecutors did not specify the substance and Ricco said he would not reveal it. Gonzalez remained free until trial.

Gonzalez allegedly had sex with inmate Ronell Wilson, 30, while he was being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn during post-trial proceedings.

Wilson, of Staten Island, was found guilty in 2006 of murdering NYPD cops James Nemorin of Baldwin Harbor and Rodney Andrews of Middle Village during a 2003 undercover drug buy. His death sentence was overturned, and he is awaiting a new penalty trial this year.

Gonzalez was charged with a single count of having sex with an inmate. She entered her plea before Judge James Orenstein. He set March 30 for a pretrial conference.

When Ricco said the baby was due that day, the judge said that would have to be worked out with the conference judge.
