Riverhead Town police are looking for two men and two women who beat and robbed a man of his cellphone Thursday.

Police said in a news release that they responded to a call at about 11:20 p.m. of a man being assaulted in the 300 block of Osborne Avenue.

When they arrived they found a man bleeding from his face and head; he was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of what police called non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation determined that the man was beaten with an unknown object and that the four suspects removed a cellphone from his pocket, police said.

Anyone with more information can call the Riverhead Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500, ext. 332. All calls will remain confidential.
