Rocky Point man accused in bank robbery
A Rocky Point man who attempted to rob a Port Jefferson Station bank Tuesday afternoon was arrested less than two hours later, Suffolk police said.
Eric Henn, 31, walked into an HSBC bank at 574 Jefferson Plaza at 2:15 and gave the teller a "threatening" note demanding cash, police said. Police said the teller didn't immediately comply, and Henn left the bank and headed west.
Detectives from the Pattern Crime Unit reviewed video footage from the bank and canvassed the area, eventually finding Henn at a shopping center at 4810 Nesconset Hwy. in Port Jefferson Station. He was arrested at 3:50 p.m. and was charged with third-degree attempted robbery.
Henn will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
