A man was killed in a two-car crash on the Southern State Parkway Sunday night, the fifth fatality from four deadly crashes on Long Island this weekend, New York State Police said.

Police said around 10:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man was driving a white Honda Civic at a high speed when it struck a gray Honda CRV near Exit 39S in North Babylon.

The collision caused both vehicles to exit the roadway and land at the tree line, according to police.

The driver of the Honda CRV, Reynaldo Collado, 49, of West Babylon, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the Honda Civic, as well as four passengers of the Honda CRV, were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

This collision is under investigation and state police are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.

The incident is the fourth deadly crash in a string of fatalities that occurred this weekend.

An 18-year-old and a 33-year-old were killed, and four teenagers were seriously injured, in a crash early Saturday, when a 2017 Kia sedan drove through a red light and collided with a 2025 Kia Seltos in West Babylon, according to authorities.

Later Saturday, in Hicksville around 11:19 p.m., Miguel Nolasco, 42, was allegedly driving while intoxicated and heading west on Prospect Avenue when his 2005 Honda was struck by an eastbound Subaru making a left turn to head north on Cantiague Rock Road, officials said.

The driver of the Subaru, identified only as a 30-year-old male, became trapped inside his vehicle as it caught fire and became fully engulfed, police said.

Nolasco has been charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, according to the news release. Police said he will be arraigned when medically practical.

A few hours later, a 17-year-old was killed in Merrick after his 2021 Honda CRV crashed into a tree on Merrick Avenue around 2:20 a.m., police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the name and hometown of the victim.

Correction: An earlier version of this story misstated the production year of the 2025 Kia Seltos involved in the West Babylon crash.
