THE BUDGET
The district proposes a $29,148,995 budget for 2015-16, a 1.16 percent increase from the current $28,813,735. The proposed tax levy would increase 1.66 percent, from $25,016,559 to $25,432,694.
This increase is within the state's tax-cap limit of 1.66 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. School taxes on the average single-family home would increase 1.66 percent, from $5,304 to $5,392.
The budget includes one additional teaching position, for English as a Second Language, and also adds in an unspecified number of AP courses. Teacher salaries were under negotiation.
