Motorcyclist killed in crash outside Stony Brook University Hospital, say cops
A motorcyclist died Friday morning after an accident with a vehicle on the campus of Stony Brook University Hospital, Suffolk police said.
Both motorists worked for the hospital, with the motorcyclist heading out and the driver of a Ford Mustang heading to work when the crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Health Sciences Drive, police said.
The Ford driver was not seriously hurt, police said.
The name of the motorcyclist was not released, pending notification of family, police said.
Other details of the accident were not released, but police do not believe the cause is criminal.
The Nicolls Road entrance to the hospital was closed during the investigation until about 1 p.m., police said.
