$82G OKd for Southampton tax assessor's software
Southampton Town officials recently authorized an $82,539.25 contract for software that will allow the tax assessor’s department to more efficiently detect changes in property values.
Benefits of a program known as Pictometry Changefindr include reducing field visits, thus saving staff resources and viewing properties that may be difficult to access, according to a town board resolution.
Officials in the tax assessor’s office asked that the town forgo the request for proposals process because the department has worked with the technology provider, Pictometry International Corp., according to the resolution. The board voted 5-0 at its May 22 meeting in favor of the proposal.
