A small vintage aircraft crashed in a cornfield in Sagaponack Sunday morning, injuring at least one occupant, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The craft, a single-engine fixed-wing Ryan Aeronautical plane manufactured in 1941, crashed at about 10:15 a.m. in a cornfield, FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said.

Two people were on board the plane, and FAA officials were headed to the scene early Sunday afternoon, Bergen said.

The crash occurred near Bridge Lane in Sagaponack.

According to FAA records, the airplane is owned by Taylor Smith of Wainscott.
