Federal transportation officials have approved New York's congestion pricing plan to charge vehicles $9 for driving below 60th Street in Manhattan beginning Jan. 5.

Around 71.7 million people across the United States, including 4.8 million New Yorkers, are expected to drive 50 miles or more for the holiday. Robert Sinclair, a spokesman for AAA Northeast, shares some tips with NewsdayTV.
