LIRR service restored east of Farmingdale after person hit by train
Service on the Long Island Rail Road's Ronkonkoma branch has been restored east of Farmingdale after a person was struck by a train, MTA officials said.
Train service in both directions along the line temporarily began and ended at Farmingdale Sunday following the incident, when the 9:17 a.m. eastbound train out of Penn Station approached Brentwood shortly after 10 a.m., the LIRR said
There was no information available regarding the victim of the collision.
The train was held as the MTA arranged bus service to the final stops along the line, including Central Islip and Ronkonkoma, the LIRR said. Bus service out of Farmingdale continued for two subsequent eastbound trains, the LIRR said.
The incident did not impact service on other lines.
