Macy's mandate: 'Return to office'

Macy’s corporate employees working remotely have been told they must return to the office at least two days per week, according to an email seen by Bloomberg News. Bloomberg says the retailer also ordered corporate white-collar employees who relocated because they could work remotely “to move back to the New York City area” to be nearer Macy’s Herald Square headquarters.
The email warned that employees who don’t comply could be fired. A Macy’s spokesman told Bloomberg the mandate affects about one-third of Macy’s corporate workforce, “including the merchandising, marketing and customer and digital teams.”
Macy’s is the latest big employer demanding workers return to the office. A recent survey of large companies found 90% expect to implement return-to-office policies by the end of the year.

Hotel chain reveals cyberattack
Omni Hotels & Resorts says hackers obtained “limited information” about customers during a cyberattack that shut down its systems last month. Omni says no “sensitive information” such as credit card details or Social Security numbers was taken, but hackers may have obtained customer names and email and mailing addresses. The Omni breach follows crippling cyberattacks against hotel chains MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment last year.
U.S. revisits Tesla Autopilot probe
The government's auto safety watchdog is opening a query into the adequacy of Tesla’s Autopilot recall in December, which aimed to safeguard against drivers misusing the driver-assistance feature.
