SANCHO BARRETT
Runner of the Year
Amityville, Sr.
Barrett's outdoor season went almost 100 percent according to plan. He won a Federation championship in the 110 hurdles (14.26) for the second straight season and he ran under 14 seconds (13.98) in the event at the Suffolk state qualifier. The only thing the Penn State-bound senior didn't do was participate at the New Balance Nationals last weekend, due to a fractured forearm. But after an injury-shortened indoor season, Barrett was pleased to be able to defend his 2010 110 hurdle championship.

JOSH TRONE
Long Beach, Sr.
Trone’s progression was steady and positive. He turned heads after winning the 100-meter Nassau AAA title. He qualified for the state meet (10.98) and followed with a Federation title in a career-best time of 10.84.

OWEN SKEETE
Westbury, Sr.
Skeete emerged as Long Island's most consistent distance runner, winning the Nassau 3,200, 1,600 and 800-meter county titles. The Indiana-bound senior took fifth in the 1,600 in the Federation final.

JOE FULLER
Longwood, Sr.
One of Long Island's most versatile runners, Fuller excelled in the 400 and 800-meter runs and paced one of the area's top 4x400-meter relay squads.

BRANDON REYNOLDS
Kings Park, Sr.
A Suffolk County and state qualifier champ, the Bucknell-bound senior concluded a fine high school career with a Division I championship in the shop put (53-6).

KADESH ROBERTS
Bay Shore, Jr.
Roberts was a steady performer in both the triple jump and the 400 hurdles. He stepped up with everything on the line at the Federation as he took home the 400 hurdle title.

IESHWAN JOHNSON
Baldwin, Sr.
Johnson achieved great heights this year, winning the Division I state discus title (178-7). Johnson also has the best throw in the state this season of 182 last May.

DAN MCCORD
Hills West, Sr.
The Princeton-bound senior emerged as the top sprinter on Long Island with the best 200-meter (21.47) and one of the top 100 (10.76) times in the state.

JOE MERCADO
Coach of the Year
Baldwin
Mercado led Baldwin on a steady progression all season, culminating in a Nassau County Class AAA title for the Bruins. Baldwin had four athletes in five events and a relay (4x400) qualify for the state championships.

Glenn, Sr.
Whitehorn got better everyday, culminating in a Federation championship in the high jump. Whitehorn cleared 5-7 in the final, edging defending champ Joanne Imbert of Valley Stream Central.

MELODEE RILEY
Riverhead, Jr.
Riley emerged as one of the state's top jump specialists this season as she came home with the Federation triple jump championship and the Division I long jump title.

JESSICA GELIBERT
Bay Shore, Jr.
The talented junior had the best 400 hurdle time in the state (59.99) this year and capped the spring season with a state Division I 400 hurdle title.

MARY KATE ANSELMINI
Runner of the Year
Ward Melville, Sr.
Every goal Anselmini set for herself, she achieved. From setting the national record in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (6:33.01), to repeating as Federation (6:33.14) and national champion (6:34.69) in the event, Anselmini did everything she set out to do and emerged as the best steeplechase runner in the country. Her time at the national championship in Greensboro, N.C. last weekend was a meet record.

JOANNA KORONIOS
Carle Place, Sr.
A dominant discus thrower, Koronios set the Nassau County record with a toss of 150 feet, 6 inches and followed that up with a Federation title in the event.

VALENCIA HANNON
Elmont, Jr.
Hannon was the top sprinter on Long Island and proved it, winning the 100 Federation title in a career-best time of 11.87 seconds.

MICHELLE ROTONDO
Garden City, Sr.
In addition to winning the 400 hurdle Federation title, Rotondo was also a member of the Trojans 4x400-meter Division I state championship relay.

OLICIA WILLIAMS
St. Anthony's, Jr.
A dominant middle distance runner, Williams won the 400 CHSAA Intersectional title in 54.75 seconds and has one of the best 800 times (2:07.8) in the state.

MIKE FRAZER

Valley Stream North
In addition to leading the Spartans to another County Class A title, Valley Stream North also has six individuals qualify for eight events at the state meet and one relay team.
