Although Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, the season continue's well into September. One event happening Sept. 10 will help keep the summer feeling alive -- a water scooter rally sponsored by JetSkiRallys.com.

This water scooter rally is a free event in which enthusiasts will ride together and enjoy a day on the water. The rally will begin at 6:30 a.m. at Venetian Shores Beach in Lindenhurst and travel to Greenport. Those who don't arrive by water, can use a water scooter and  boat ramp at Venetian Shore.

Accounting for refueling and no-wake zones, the trip is a full-day excursion ending at Greenport, according to rally founder Jason Schwartz.

Schwartz, of Lindenhurst, said he started organizing the events "for those of us that like to escape reality from time to time and to get outdoor enthusiasts together and enjoy the outdoors and all that Long Island has to offer year-round."

In addition to summer water scooter rallies, Schwartz plans to organize ATV and snowmobiling rallies in the fall and winter.
