Furyk gifts Bradley
With a clutch par and a stunning collapse by Jim Furyk, Keegan Bradley won the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio on Sunday. The St. John's alum closed with a 6-under-par 64, his final stroke a 15-foot putt to save par from a plugged lie in the bunker. Furyk, who led for 71 holes and looked solid throughout the final round, chopped up the 18th hole for a double bogey to throw away a chance at his first win since 2010. He went from an almost certain win to a 69 and a tie for second with Steve Stricker. "I've got no one to blame but myself," Furyk said. "There's no way I should have made more than [bogey at 18]."

Bernhard Langer shot 10-under 62 for a two-shot victory in the 3M Championship in Blaine, Minn., his 15th Champions Tour title . . . J.J. Henry won the PGA Tour's Reno-Tahoe Open with 43 points in the modified Stableford format. John Daly tied for fifth.

Deadly storm at Pocono
A lightning strike in the parking lot at Pocono Raceway after a rain-shortened NASCAR race yesterday killed one person and injured nine others, racetrack officials said.
It wasn't immediately clear if all 10 people were actually struck by lightning in the parking lot behind the grandstand, nor was it known whether one or multiple strikes occurred during the thunderstorm.
Before the storm, Jeff Gordon won the race, his first of the season and 86th of his career.-- AP
