The Middle Country school district and Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh will sponsor an electronic waste drive at Centereach and Newfield high schools from Feb. 25 through March 1.
Old electronics can be dropped off at the schools for recycling. These items will be accepted: TVs, VCRs and DVD players, computer mice, keyboards, printers, calculators, hard drives, electronic typewriters, circuit boards, projectors, camcorders, laptops, power supplies, radios, stereos, backup batteries, PDAs, mainframes, pagers, monitors, routers, telephones, scanners, cellphones, answering machines, hubs, modems, fax machines, copiers, cables and hand-held electronic toys.
“If e-waste is not disposed of properly it could be harmful to the environment,” Walsh said.
Centereach High School is at 14 43rd St. in Centereach and Newfield High School is at 145 Marshall Dr. in Selden.
