Concert, fireworks July Fourth at Bald Hill
Attention fans of fireworks: the newly renamed Pennysaver Amphitheater at Bald Hill in Farmingville will host a free July Fourth celebration with music and pyrotechnics provided by the famed Fireworks by Grucci.
The Long Island Philharmonic will play a selection of Americana music at the event, the Star Spangled Bash. The fireworks display will have a musical soundtrack simultaneously broadcast on WRCN 103.9-FM.
The event is sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven and JVC Broadcasting, and is potentially the largest free July Fourth fireworks display on Long Island this year after the state canceled fireworks at Jones Beach in 2010.
“The July Fourth Long Island Philharmonic concert and fireworks show at the Amphitheater is the most spectacular entertainment event of the summer,” Town Supervisor Mark Lesko said in a release. “People come from miles around and they are never disappointed.”
The venue gates open at 6 p.m., and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. Permanent seating and lawn seating are available. Attendees are not allowed to bring food or beverages, but can purchase both at the amphitheater. Attendees are advised to get to the venue early.
