A property tax exemption workshop will be held Friday at the Massapequa Library at 40 Harbor Lane.

The session, which will run from 1 to 3 p.m., is sponsored by State Sen. Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick), Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, and Nassau County Legis. Michael Venditto (R-Massapequa).

Tax exemption specialists from the Nassau County Department of Assessment will be equipped with computers linked to the county’s database. Property tax exemption applications for Basic STAR, Enhanced STAR, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians will be processed.

Homeowners who will be filing for an exemption should bring copies of any documentation that is required for the property tax exemption, including proof of age, proof of residency and proof of income.
