NASSAU GIRLS

LARGE SCHOOLS

With Shannon McBrien in middle distance, St. Anthony’s transfer Lauren Lavoro (distance), Amanda Schmidt back in the 400 and 800s and Heather Sweeney in the jumps, Massapequa is poised to win its second straight Class AAA title.

MacArthur has distance duo Courtney Livoti and Lindsey McLaughlin, middle distance specialists Maria Montefusco and Nicole Santaneillo and Kristina Romano and Kelly Clifford in the field events.

Uniondale has promise with Britney Webley (sprints, hurdles), Tawanda Francis (long jump) and Desiree Johnson-Greene in the hurdles.

Jennifer Cajou (100, 200) should emerge as one of the county’s top sprinters for Farmingdale.

Plainedge has the look of a contender with Stephanie Maybie (high jump) and Courtney Tibaldi (hurdles).

Carey returns with Nicolette Sands in the sprints and jumps and Tara Duggan in the hurdles.

Valencia Hannon leads Elmont.

SMALL SCHOOLS

Garden City has great depth, led by Michelle Rotondo (400 hurdles) and Taryn Schmelzinger and juniors Taylor Hennig and Jenna DeAngelo. Emma Gallagher and the sister distance combo of Jennifer and Stephanie Gerland also return.

North Shore is in a class by itself and looking for its sixth straight county title with record-breaking distance runner Samantha Nadel, joined by fellow distance specialists Brianna Nerud, Gabriella Vezza, Elizabeth Caldwell, Jess Donohue and Danielle Muoio.

Hewlett is buoyed by Vanessa Pierre (jumps, 400), Jayla Therancy (hurdles) and Natalie Herzberg in the middle distances.

Uzoamaka Aniagba (shot put) and sprinter Shanice Johnson leads a talented Valley Stream North team with Danielle Berman (400 hurdles), Chell Burke (triple jump) and Sarah Craig (discus).

Emily Cranmer (sprints, long jump) leads the way for Island Trees with Alexa Dolgos (400), Theresa Hinshaw (800, 400) and Danielle Medellin (hurdles), while Emily Easton is back for Manhasset.

SUFFOLK GIRLS

LARGE SCHOOLS

Led by sprinters Essence Rogers, Brianah Allen and Anisa Toppin and hurdler Jessica Gelibert, Bay Shore is looking to add to its lore. Danielle Rowe (800) and 2010 national outdoor racewalk champ Jennifer Halloran also return.

Northport returns Sara Ronde (400, jumps), distance specialists Brigid Brennan, Elizabeth Fierro and Anna Corrigan and racewalker Suzy Farber.

Longwood has strength with sprinter Olivia Hallstein and shot put and discus specialists Imani White and Asia Mayo.

Ward Melville has a fine distance duo in Mary Kate Anselmini and Caroline O’Hea.

Sprinter/hurdler Ashley Gregg, is back with fellow sprinter Alyssa Barthelmes for Lindenhurst.

Brentwood is young, but returns 400 hurdler Brianna Reid and sprinters Genesis Goston and sisters Brittany and Bionca Richardson.

Commack is led by distance specialists Allison Stapleton and Erin Neville and Sarah Bell (hurdles).

SMALL SCHOOLS

Reigning Division II champ Kings Park is back with Christine Hagan (distance), Tara Greco (jumps, pole vault) and hurdler Kayla Koelbel. Michelle Sygulski (racewalk), Kathleen Naeher (middle distance), Sarah Frisina (hurdles) and Kait Gorecki (discus, shot put) add depth.

Jordan Collins (shot put, discus) is back with Brenna Darby (800), Aubrie Van Weele (pole vault) along with sophomores Bailey Walker, Casey Hasher and Katie Saroka for Bayport-Blue Point.

Glenn has Kaitlin Whitehorn (high jump), Nicole Hamilton (400) and jump specialists Jessica Sieger and Kristin Tesi.

Daneen Small (hurdles, sprints), Kelly Siry (400) and middle distance specialist Kelly Aldridge lead a talented Amityville squad.

Distance specialist Briana Hayes and sprinter Jessica Leach will lead Eastport-South Manor.

Megan Reilly (1500), racewalker Dana Norman and Ginger Valle (sprints) return for Deer Park.

Krystina Choinski (middle distance, distance), along with Serena Rudisel, Gina Macaluso and Courtney Solana will form a powerful relay team for Hauppauge.

Center Moriches is led by Jordan Sanders and Molly Schaefer in middle distance and the versatile Dora Mayen (400, shot put). Shannon McDonnell leads Shoreham-Wading River and Janie Turek is back for Mount Sinai.

CHSAA

Middle distance standout Olicia Williams and sprinters Emily Taussig and Megan Fiedler will make St. Anthony’s tough to beat. Katie Gallagher, the reigning long jump and high jump CHSAA Intersectional champ and Elizabeth Fallon, a high jumper,l also will be in the mix.

Kellenberg has depth with Katie Cavanaugh and Michele Anthony (hurdles), Ordine Belot (jumps) and Jasmine Belcher (sprints). Ashlin Conroy, Kylie Pearse, Mary Hutchinson and 800-meter specialist Kim Mackay also return for the Firebirds.

St. John the Baptist has an abundance of experience with Anne Carey (distance), Emma Cleary (long jump), Alyssa Dorney (middle distance) and sprinter Victoria Lundin.

Holy Trinity is led by Colleen Schmidt, while Ashley Murphy is Sacred Heart’s best runner.
