State Sen. Kemp Hannon (R-Garden City) will hold a hurricane preparedness seminar today from 11 a.m. to noon at the East Meadow Public Library at 1886 Front St.

“With hurricane season for Long Island just around the corner,” Hannon said, “I’m pleased to announce I’m teaming up with the Long Island Power Authority to provide crucial storm preparedness and power restoration information to residents.”

LIPA will give a 20-minute educational presentation addressing what residents need to know, and what its internal process is before, during and after a major storm.

After the presentation, LIPA representatives will answer storm preparedness and power restoration questions.
