Medford woman sentenced in robbery spree
A Medford woman has been sentenced to three years for her part in a heroin-fueled robbery team.
Jamie Greco, 23, and her boyfriend Christopher Marino were charged after 15 armed robberies in Suffolk County at fast-food establishments, gas stations and convenience stores.
Prosecutors say the pair got away with about $5,000, which was spent on heroin. Greco acted as the getaway driver and took a plea deal for a reduced sentence. Marino is already serving a 10-year sentence.
“I am sorry for what happened. I never meant for anyone to get hurt either physically or mentally,” Greco said before her sentencing.
Greco's attorney Steve Fondulis says she has been clean for a while and participated in a program at the jail where she tells her story to high school students. He says she plans on moving to Arizona to be with her family and 6-year-old daughter when she is finished serving her sentence.
