Good morning, Long Islanders and welcome to another week.

This is the live Long Island Now morning traffic post for Monday, Sept. 6, 2014, your source for the latest local traffic and transit updates.

We have wrapped up our morning commute updates. As always, thanks for reading. 

TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY. One lane will be closed from Exit 63 to Exit 65 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for road work, and from Exit 71 to Exit 70 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

SOUTHERN STATE PARKWAY. A car fire has slowed traffic in North Babylon moving west near exit 39. Only the left lane is open, and delays reach back to exit 40.

Also, one lane on the parkway will be closed form Exit 13 to Exit 23 for road work between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. A moving operation will be taking place in the left eastbound lane between Exit 23 and Exit 32 until 2 p.m.

NORTHERN STATE PARKWAY. The eastbound on and off ramps for Exit 28S,  Willis Avenue, will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for road work. One lane will also be closed at Exit 25, Lakeville Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Monday will be clear in the morning, then partly cloudy with an expected high of 68 and an expected low of 57 degrees.
