TRAFFIC AND TRANSIT

WEST ISLIP: The left lane is closed on the Robert Moses Causeway southbound approaching Ocean Parkway due to construction.

GREENVALE: The right lane is closed on Route 25A in both directions between Glen Cove Road and before Port Washington Boulevard in Manhasset due to construction.

HOLBROOK: There is construction work on Patchogue Holbrook Road in both directions at the LIE.

PORT JEFFERSON: Look out for long-term road construction on Route 347 in both directions between Williams Street and Jayne Boulevard.

Thursday will be clear in the morning, then overcast with a high of 57. Thursday night, expect clear skies with a low of 41.

TODAY IN HISTORY

On this day in 1991, another nor'easter known now as "The Perfect Storm," or the "Halloween nor'easter of 1991," swept north up the eastern seaboard from Florida through Canada. The storm cycle ended on Nov. 2,  and caused $200 million in damage in the United States.
