The Southampton-Glenn baseball game that was postponed on Tuesday after one inning because of safety issues and rescheduled for Thursday was suspended because of lightning. The teams were supposed to continue the game at the point it was stopped with Glenn leading 5-1 in the top of the second inning and then play the scheduled game at Glenn.

The Knights sent three batters to the plate in the top of the second inning before the game was stopped for 15 minutes because of thunder. As the teams were getting prepared to resume, lightning appeared and the umpires said the game was postponed.

Three Southampton players, two assistant coaches and coach Ike Birdsall were ejected from Tuesday's game and can't be at either game. Birdsall has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation that he allegedly made contact with an official.

The suspended game is set to resume at 2 p.m. Friday at Southampton followed by the scheduled game.
