Lisa Marino of Calhoun High School is the May Scholar Artist for Nassau County

Sanford H. Calhoun High School’s Lisa Marino is a well-rounded student. As a result of her creativity and dedication, her visual art work has received recognition by the Art Supervisors Association and a rating of “Distinguished” by the New York State Art Teachers Association Portfolio Project. Lisa has also participated in the Adelphi University Art Foundations Program. 

Aside from her art achievements, Lisa has flourished in her academics. She is enrolled in AP and Honors courses in U.S. Government, Art,  Pre-Calculus, College-level Spanish and Accelerated Physics.

She is a member of the Art, Science, Math, Spanish, and National Honor Societies and has been acknowledged by St. John’s University as a member of The Women in Science Society.

Outside of school, Lisa tutors her peers and participates in the Key Club, Science, Italian and Latin Clubs as well as Yearbook. Lisa plans to merge her passions for art and science in college.
