ANIMAL SCIENCE STUDENTS ACT AS VETS IN RIVERHEAD. More than 25 students enrolled in the Eastern Long Island Academy of Applied Technology’s animal science program will provide veterinary care to more than 12 canines at the school’s classroom, and experience a day in the life of a veterinarian with the assistance and guidance of an expert veterinarian. Follow along with Newsday's Tara Conry via her Twitter updates below.

In Bay Shore, water is shutdown due to emergency repair of a water main on Martinstein Avenue. The shutdown will affect 22 residences.
