Mastic Beach trustee candidates at forum

The Mastic Beach Property Owners Association will host a Meet the Candidates event Wednesday in advance of the village’s board of trustees election.

All four candidates are scheduled to attend. Trustees Robert Morrow and Kenneth Olivo are defending their seats against Alan Chasinov and Gail Cappiello.

The League of Women Voters is scheduled to moderate, organizers said, to ensure an “unbiased forum.” Residents who attend the event will be allowed to ask questions of the trustees and candidates, organizers said.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Mastic Beach Property Owners Clubhouse on Neighborhood Road, at the corner of Orchid Drive.

The election, which is open to the village’s registered voters, is on March 20 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Mastic Beach firehouse, which is also on Neighborhood Road.
