Miguel Cabrera's HR caps Tigers' five-run rally in 10th

The Tigers celebrated perhaps the most spectacular comeback of the 2012 baseball season Sunday when Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer to cap a stunning five-run rally by host Detroit with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 10-8 win over Cleveland, which has lost nine straight.

With two outs, nobody on and the Indians up 8-5, Chris Perez (0-3) walked Alex Avila and pinch hitter Andy Dirks. Austin Jackson doubled home a run and Omar Infante's two-run single tied it. "You never know what's going to happen," Cabrera said. "You've got to make 27 outs."

"This is very deflating," Cleveland manager Manny Acta said. "You never believe it is going to happen."

White Sox 4, Angels 2: A.J. Pierzynski tied a team record by homering in his fifth straight game. His 21st homer was a go-ahead two-run drive in the bottom of the seventh.

Orioles 1, Rays 0: Taylor Teagarden's RBI double in the top of the 10th lifted Baltimore.

Red Sox 6, Twins 4: Adrian Gonzalez's two-run homer helped host Boston avert a four-game sweep.

Blue Jays 6, Athletics 5: Edwin Encarnacion hit his 29th homer for visiting Toronto.

Royals 7, Rangers 6: Errors by Texas' Alberto Gonzalez and Mike Olt allowed the tiebreaking run to score in the 10th inning for host Kansas City.

Nationals 4, Marlins 1: Stephen Strasburg (12-5) pitched three-hit ball over six shutout innings and drove in two runs for host Washington.

Braves 6, Astros 1: Chipper Jones had two hits in his final two at-bats and scored the go-ahead run on a sixth-inning wild pitch for host Atlanta.

Phillies 5, Diamondbacks 4: Ryan Howard singled home the winning run in the ninth for host Philadelphia. Howard had been 5-for-35 with 20 strikeouts.

Cardinals 3, Brewers 0: Kyle Lohse (12-2) threw six scoreless innings for host St. Louis.

Pirates 6, Reds 2: A.J. Burnett (14-3) allowed only one hit after the first inning and retired 18 straight during his 82/3 innings. Andrew McCutchen homered for visiting Pittsburgh.

Giants 8, Rockies 3: Tim Lincecum (6-11) won consecutive starts for the first time since April and Hunter Pence had three RBIs in Denver.

Dodgers 7, Cubs 6: Hanley Ramirez singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth for Los Angeles. -- AP
