2 dead after canoe overturns on Connecticut lake
BOLTON, Conn. — Two men are dead after a canoe overturned on a Connecticut lake Wednesday, authorities said.
Environmental conservation police responded after the canoe overturned on Lower Bolton Lake, about 15 miles east of Hartford, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
One man was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at a hospital. Emergency responders recovered the body of a second man later in the evening. Both men were believed to have been in the canoe when it overturned, according to the environmental agency.
Neither man was identified.
The lake is a popular spot for swimming, canoeing and fishing.
