A CORUNA, Spain — In a story published March 7, 2024, about a woman who raced nonstop around the world in a sailboat by herself, The Associated Press erroneously reported that Cole Brauer was the first American woman to circumnavigate the globe alone by sea. Brauer was the first American woman to to race nonstop around the world by herself, not the first to circumnavigate the globe solo.
