If there is anything Scott Passeser is associated with on Long Island, it's jobs.

Passeser, of Fort Salonga, is into his 21st year as host of the News 12 Long Island show "Jobline," in which he interviews company executives about their businesses and openings they might have. Now Passeser is giving himself a new job: consultant to troubled companies.

Passeser, a marketing and PR guru, has worked for Stony Brook University, dental equipment company Henry Schein Inc. of Melville, Continental Home Loans and others over the years, all the while keeping his cable TV show going.

He is so associated with jobs, Passeser said, that he often gets stopped by strangers while weekend shopping.

"They think what they see on News 12 Long Island is all I do," Passeser said. "They don't know I have a real job."

Passeser said he's going to help companies put together business plans, websites and strategies.

"It's going to be based on a company's ability to pay," Passeser said.
