Babysitter sentenced to 11 years in prison and will be deported in shaken baby death
A 28-year-old Corona woman has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for shaking a three-month-old boy to death while baby sitting him in December 2010.
Convicted on assault and manslaughter charges, Ana Delarosa will be deported to Mexico after serving her sentence, Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced Tuesday, noting that the defendant had waived her right to appeal.
Delarosa's attorney was not immediately available for comment.
An investigation found that Addidon Reinosa-Xoyatla had suffered massive internal head trauma consistent with shaken baby syndrome. Delarosa eventually confessed she had gotten frustrated when the baby did not stop crying and shook him until he stopped and went limp. He died at Elmhurst Hospital six days later.
