De Blasio's Park Slope house for rent
Mayor Bill de Blasio's Park Slope row house -- with its single, third-floor bathroom shared for years by his family of four -- is on the rental market for $4,975 per month, according to a real estate listing.
Billed as "an oasis in Park Slope, Brooklyn," the century-old, three-story property features three bedrooms, exposed brick, a tile hearthstone, mudroom and a back garden with a crabapple tree, and rosemary, thyme and sage plants.
De Blasio, first lady Chirlane McCray and their children, Chiara, 19, and Dante, 17, moved in July to Gracie Mansion in Manhattan's Yorkville neighborhood, upgrading to eight bathrooms in the official mayoral residence.
There is no option to buy de Blasio's Brooklyn home, a mayoral spokeswoman said.
The house has an assessed value of $1.4 million.
The NYPD booth and guard that had been posted outside to protect the mayor and his family have been removed.
