Cablevision vet Valerie Green named publisher of amNewYork
Newsday Media Group announced Tuesday that Valerie Green has been appointed publisher of amNewYork.
Green, who has worked for Cablevision for the past 15 years, will oversee the company's sales, marketing, distribution and operations.
"Ms. Green has a proven track record for building and positioning brands and providing strong creative direction across various business units," said Fred Groser, publisher of Newsday Media Group, which includes Newsday and amNewYork.
"I am confident that she will be a dynamic leader, lending her extensive experience to best position amNewYork for the future."
"I am enthusiastic to lead a wonderful team and a great New York newspaper," said Green, who will continue to serve as senior vice president of marketing for Cablevision's local media group.
Green holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from SUNY Stony Brook and and a master's degree in English literature University of Virginia.
She previously worked as an executive senior vice president of marketing for Fuse, the national music television network that is a part of the Madison Square Garden Co. She has also served as served as general manager of Spin magazine and head of marketing and publicity for Rolling Stone magazine.
