We get it. The whole point of remaking not-so-old movies is to appeal to a glossy generation who won’t sit still for a movie unless names like Robert Pattinson, Liam Hemsworth and Kristin Stewart are involved.

Here’s the thing, though: Flicks made in the ’80s aren’t that old. Today’s teens would probably really like them.

But that’s not stopping Kenny Ortega — the original “Dirty Dancing” choreographer, right — from rebooting the 1987 classic.

“I know there are naysayers and skeptics, but I’m used to it,” Ortega told RadarOnline.com. “We did ‘Dirty Dancing’ 25 years ago, and there’s a whole new talent pool.”

Jennifer Grey, now 51, starred alongside the late Patrick Swayze in the flick and has been tweeting her support of the remake.

So far, no script or casting has been finalized.

Other not-so-old 1980s flicks that were remade:

‘Hairspray’ A just-plain-silly version starring a creepy John Travolta in drag fell way short in comparison to the campy-in-a-good-way original.

‘Footloose’ Another Ortega project, this reboot — scheduled for October — has seen its share of casting problems, with Zac Efron and Chace Crawford both dropping out.

‘The Karate Kid’ A blatant vehicle for Jaden Smith, as his parents, Will and Jada, produced it.
