David Sloan, 42, the only son of Morton Williams supermarkets owner Morton Sloan, walked out of his West 62nd Street apartment a little after noon April 12 telling his fiancée he needed to retrieve his cell phone from his car.

He never made it to the car and hasn't been seen since. And his devastated family is appealing to the public to help find him.

"David had a psychological condition, which for the last four or five years was very well controlled with medication," but which may have reemerged, said his father, Morton Sloan, who has homes on the Upper West Side and on Long Island. A marketing executive in the family business, David had recently bought an apartment, moved, and was due to be married May 5 to a psychiatrist he met last June.

While he was excited about his upcoming nuptials, the pressure of so many life changes "was beginning to mount," and David set off without his medication, which may leave him paranoid said Morton. His son has not accessed his bank account or credit cards since disappearing, added Morton, who added that the family does not believe he was kidnapped. "We and the police have searched all the hospitals, the morgue, the shelters, the soup kitchens, the churches and the synagogues, the cheap hotels and the SROs. We have 20 employees looking for him every day," said Morton.

David, who is white, 5-feet-11-inches tall and 180 lbs. with dark, curly hair, was wearing glasses, blue jeans, a blue sweater, black jacket, black gloves and black shoes when he vanished.

His father is asking anyone who has seen his soon or who has information to call the 20th Precinct at 212-580-6417, or 1-800-577-TIPS.

Update: April 24, 9:45 p.m.: The NYPD has reported that David Sloan has been found and is in "good health."
