Detectives Monday were seeking the father of two toddler girls as the suspect in the brutal slaying of his daughters and their mother Sunday night in a walk-up apartment in the South Jamaica area of Queens.
The suspect, Miguel Mejia-Ramos, 28, drives a white 2001 Chevrolet commercial van as well as a white 1995 Dodge sport utility vehicle, police said.
Investigators believe Mejia-Ramos stabbed girlfriend Deisy Garcia, 21, and the couple's daughters Daniela Mejia, 2, and Yoselin Mejia, 1, numerous times during an attack in a one-bedroom apartment at 90-20 Sutphin Blvd.
Each victim had what police described as "multiple stab wounds" -- Garcia and her 2-year-old daughter with wounds to the torso; the 1-year-old with wounds to the chest. All three were pronounced dead at the scene soon after officers arrived about 7:07 p.m.
Police officials asked for the public's help finding Mejia-Ramos and released a photograph of him late Monday dressed in formal attire. Police said the Chevrolet commercial van's license plate is 22128MD; the white Dodge SUV's is GHS2798.
