President Barack Obama hit a milestone in the Big Apple on Thursday, attending his 100th fundraiser since announcing his re-election bid.

Obama was scheduled to attend four fundraisers in the city for a total haul of about $5 million, according to reports.

The events included a $5,000-per-ticket reception at a private residence, a dinner at ABC Kitchen and a star-studded gala with Russell Simmons, music acts the Roots and Ben Folds, and funnyman emcee Aziz Ansari.

Obama has attended 21 fundraisers in New York state since filing as a candidate last April - the second-most-frequent location for fundraisers behind Washington, D.C., according to CBS News.

Obama's latest filing with the Federal Election Commission shows the president has raised more than $140 million, mostly from individual contributions.

The Republican National Committee complained Thursday of the president spending so much time corralling campaign cash, and also took a swipe in a video: "After four years of failed policies, he'll need every penny."
