A tourist was charged Thursday for running onto the court at the Louis Armstrong Arena on Wednesday to try to get an autograph after Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka's match of the U.S. Open, the Queens district attorney's office said.

Damian Proano, 40, identified by prosecutors as an Ecuadorian tourist, allegedly rushed toward the players after the match ended, but was stopped by security officers before he made it.

"The Queens District Attorney's Office and U.S. Open officials have zero tolerance for spectators who fail to conduct themselves responsibly at sporting events," District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement.
