Meet the athletes who made it onto Newsday's All-Long Island girls track team for the 2015 winter and 2016 spring seasons.

Long Island Runner of the Year: Diana Vizza, North Shore, Sr.

After winning the state public school cross country championship, Vizza's distance talents translated effortlessly to the track. She won the indoor state 1,500 meter championship in four minutes, 31.67 seconds.

One week later, the Dartmouth-bound runner had herself a memorable weekend at New Balance Indoor Nationals. On Friday, she broke the state record in the indoor 5,000 meters, running a 16:42.84 that busted North Shore alum Brianna Nerud's 2012 mark of 16:43.56. She followed the state record up with a Long Island record in the 2-mile on Sunday, placing an All-American fourth in 10:19.91 and breaking Nerud's 2012 standard of 10:24.86. This spring, Vizza won three Nassau Class A championships (800, 1,500, 3,000). She ran a 9:31.31 in the 3,000 at the Nassau state qualifier, a personal best and only 5.59 seconds off Mepham's Christine Curtin's 1982 Nassau County record.

Halle Hazzard, St. Anthony's, Jr.

Hazzard won her first state title in the spring, running an 11.76 in the 100 meters. She was second in the outdoor 200 and second in the indoor 55.

Leah Blackall, Sachem North, Sr.

Blackall took second in both state federation triple jump competitions this season. She went 37 feet, 10 1/4 inches in the winter and 38 feet, 9 1/2 inches in the spring.

Katherine Lee, Shoreham-Wading River, Soph.

Lee finished fifth in the outdoor 1,500 meter state championship in 4:28.96 and was eighth in the indoor 3,000 meter state championship. She won three (800, 1,500, 3,000) Suffolk Division III outdoor championships.

Asia Chen, Brentwood, Sr.

Chen ran anchor on the Brentwood 4X400 meter relay team that won the Division I outdoor Suffolk championship in 3:51.77. She also won the Suffolk Division I 400 hurdles in 1:02.48.

Mary Chimezie, Half Hollow Hills East, Sr.

Chimezie was third in the indoor 300-meter state championship, finishing in 39.99 seconds. She won the Suffolk outdoor Division I 400 championship in 57.24 seconds.

Aviana Goode, Bay Shore, Sr.

Goode finished third in the outdoor 100-meter hurdle state championship in 14.29 seconds. She was third in the indoor long jump state championship, flying 17 feet, 5 1/4 inches.

Lauren Harris, Sachem East, Jr.

Harris set the national high school indoor mile walk record in March, Winning the mile walk at New Balance Nationals at The Armory in 6:57.36. A week earlier, she won the indoor 1,500 meter walk state championship in 6:35.16.

Asia Jinks, Uniondale, Jr.

Jinks was fourth in the indoor state long jump championship, flying 17 feet, five inches in March. She won three Nassau Class A indoor championships (55 meter hurdles, long jump, triple jump).

Amanda McNelis, Commack, Jr.

McNelis was the best pole vaulter on Long Island. She placed fifth in the state indoor competition, clearing 11 feet, nine inches and third in the state outdoor competition, clearing 12 feet.

Kiyah Owens, Manhasset, Sr.

Owens was second in the outdoor state 400 meter championship in 55.46 seconds. Entering Nationals weekend, she was third in the state in the 400. She won the Nassau AA outdoor 400 championship in 57.16 seconds.

Angelique Palmer, Brentwood, Spoh.

Palmer ran third on the Brentwood 4X400 meter relay team that won the Division I outdoor Suffolk championship in 3:51.77 She finished fourth in the Suffolk Division I 400 in 58.62 seconds.

Nataly Ramirez, Brentwood, Jr.

Ramirez ran second on the Brentwood 4X400 meter relay team that won the Division I outdoor Suffolk championship in 3:51.77. She finished fourth in the Suffolk Division I 400 hurdles in 1:05.40.

Shisheido Robinson, Brentwood, Sr.

Robinson led off the Brentwood 4X400 meter relay that won the Division I outdoor Suffolk championship in 3:51.77. She was also second in the Suffolk Division I 400 in 57.78 seconds.

Olivia Seifert, St. Anthony's, Sr.

Seifert tossed the discus 146 feet, 10 inches at the Big Blue Track and Field Classic in April, the second-best throw in the state entering New Balance Outdoor Nationals weekend. She also won the CHSAA Intersectional discus championship.

Meg Tuthill, Mercy, Sr.

Tuthill was fifth in the indoor 1,000-meter state championship, running a 2:58.36. She won the 800 meters at Suffolk's outdoor state qualifier in 2:11.52 and the 1,500 at the indoor small school championships in 4:52.49.

Denisha West, Westbury, Sr.

West won two state federation triple jump titles this season. She jumped 38 feet, 3/4 inches in the winter and 39 feet, 3 1/4 inches in the spring.

Alyssa Yeboah-Kodie, St. Anthony's, Jr.

She won the outdoor CHSAA Intersectional 100-meter hurdle championship, clocking a 14.60. She was fourth in the state in the indoor 55 meter hurdles, posting an 8.19.

Coach of the Year: Mike Frazer, Valley Stream North

Frazer, who coaches both the boys and girls teams, won four county titles this season. Both his teams won in both indoor and outdoor seasons. His girls team won the Nassau A outdoor title, scoring 150 points and the Nassau B indoor title, scoring 136.5 points.
