ALBANY -- Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is getting ready to move his oldest daughters into college this week, and it makes him feel "old, very old."

Cuomo, 55, said during a radio interview that he's helping his twin daughters shop for college and then move in. Daughter Cara is attending Harvard University; Mariah is going to Brown University. The governor said the week gives him a "last chance a desperate father has to cling" to his daughters.

"Just yesterday I was going off to college and now they're going off to college," the Democrat said on The Capitol Pressroom, a public-radio program that frequently features the governor. "It's one of those moments when you feel seriously old."

Kerry Kennedy, Cuomo's former wife, graduated from Brown. Their third and youngest daughter, Michaela, lives with Kennedy and attends school in Westchester County. Cuomo graduated from Fordham University and Albany Law School.

Cuomo said he will "greet" President Barack Obama in Buffalo on Thursday when the president kicks off a two-day Northeast tour.
