Roman Harper puts home for rent on Airbnb during Super Bowl 50
Roman Harper will spend this Sunday in Santa Clara for Super Bowl 50, but that won’t stop the Panthers safety from having people over at his Charlotte home for a Super Bowl party.
Harper is listing his home on rental website Airbnb while he plays the Broncos in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7. The listing is for two, so whoever books it can bring a guest.
The home — an apartment in uptown Charlotte — is listed for $5,000, and proceeds will go toward Harper’s Hope 41 Foundation, which helps prepare today’s youth for tomorrow’s challenges. Airbnb also will match the proceeds from the booking.
So, what does one do while staying at a Pro Bowl safety’s house on Super Bowl Sunday?
“Kick back on my sofa while watching Super Bowl 50 on our 70-inch TV,” Harper writes in the listing. “Upon arrival, feel free to check out our outdoor junior Olympic pool with an expansive deck and deluxe courtyard, or our 4,000 s.f. spa-inspired health club with yoga room and complimentary fitness classes. As evening approaches, prepare your football finest and take advantage of the kitchen -- it’s where I (and my mom) spend most of the time preparing for big games!”
The listing also highlights the building’s 24-hour concierge staff, a multi-purpose basketball and tennis court, a 50th-floor SKY Lounge, an eighth-floor Cyber Bar, a billiards lounge and café with demonstration kitchen and a private HDTV screening room with surround sound.
Harper also will give the guest a signed football.
There are a few house rules, though: no playing football in the apartment, no cleats on the hardwood, no house parties, no smoking and no pets (“especially Broncos,” the listing says).
