Saad Amer of Patchogue-Medford High School the January Scholar Artist for Suffolk

Patchogue-Medford High School senior, Saad Amer, is passionate about the arts. He works in the mediums of graphic design, photography, photo-manipulations, digital illustration and video.  His successes have placed him in the top one percent of his class.

Saad’sgraphic design and photography work have won him many awards, including Best in Show at the Long Island Media Art Show and second place at the Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts Art Show.  Saad was named a Finalist in the Rachel Carson Photography Contest sponsored by the EPA and earned a Congressional Artist Award from the House of Representatives.  His work has been displayed at Five Towns College, the Advanced Vision 7 Art Show and Smithtown Arts Council.  In addition, his video work took first place in the environmental category at the Long Island Youth Summit.
