Sunshine to finish out the week
The nice springtime conditions from Thursday will continue into Friday, although temperatures will be a few degrees cooler. High temperatures will be mainly in the low- to mid-50s for Long Island, with upper-50s to near 60 degrees farther west.
A wind shift is to blame for the cooler temperatures. As opposed to the northwesterly winds from Thursday, Friday's winds will come out of the northeast at 10 to 15 mph.
Clouds will increase Friday night, with low temperatures in the lower 40s.
Unfortunately, the nice weather will not continue into the weekend. Clouds will dominate the first half of Saturday, followed by rain for the evening and overnight period and through Sunday morning. Skies will attempt to clear Sunday afternoon.
Check back in Saturday morning for the complete, detailed weekend forecast.
