Town Focus: A Week in Hicksville, Day 5
Editor's note: Community journalist T.C. McCarthy is spending the week in Hicksville, visiting hamlet favorites and talking to residents.
As I wrap up Newsday’s "Town Focus: Hicksville," I have several more stories coming today and Saturday.
Yesterday I spent some time with Don Curran, the curator of the Hicksville Gregory Museum, above, learning all I could about the 100-year-old building, a former courthouse. My look at a Hicksville couple enjoying and contributing to the hamlet's diversity is coming later today, along with a Veterans Day story that starts off in Hicksville and goes all the way to the Pentagon.
We'll finish things off with the story of Hicksville, as told by its residents.
Looking back, this has been a great week. Hicksville is rich with history, culture, and it has been wonderful meeting and spending time with its residents. Keep in touch Hicksville; we’ll be back. And keep sending your tips to TC.McCarthy@newsday.com or shoot me a tweet @TC_McCarthy.
